    Long overdue update!!!

    Feeling very uncomfortable as my hair is at the kind of mid-length where I am trying to grow it longer, but it is extremely difficult to keep it in shape daily.

    Outfit for a wedding dinner I attended recently.

    By far my most expensive pair of heels from Rose Bullet. Worn 3 times and it rained on all 3 days.

    It’s really sweet of my darlings to think about me when they are overseas! Thanks Bebe for all these from Korea!

    Before Gene started flying, he told me “when I do fly, I will buy you goodies from all over the world”. He really did. From Japan and Korea….

    From Zurich. And if I actually posted all the goodies he flooded me with, it will be an entire post that you can’t scroll to the end unless you scroll it damn fast! Thanks for being such a darling :)

    Been cooking up a storm as well!

    Salmon with tomato and cheese omelet, Japanese curry, broccoli salad with crab meat and miso soup

    This is my first time cooking clams and it’s a complete success :)

    Oven baked black pepper pumpkin with crushed almonds!

    Had an Easter day cook out with my friends!

    So far, this year has been treating me real good. Life is fair. Life rewards people who work hard and do not take things for granted. I thank life and I thank the people who has made it wonderful.

    Just received my performance bonus and THANK YOU BOSS :D Set up my 4th clinic today. Learn a lot again!

    May is gonna be another awesome month. I know it because I’ll be heading to Bangkok on the 17th, and it’s the month of pay adjustment and pay increment!!! And possibly….a new wallet and a new bag? The last time I bought bags was May last year. Andddddd May is also the birthday month of 2 of my best male buddies!!!!

    Happiness is a choice, it in your actions and your thoughts. YOU can decide if you want to be happy or not. YOU. And I hope you choose happy. Have a happy May everybody!!!!

    (Pssst! You know, I’ve always wanted to be a motivational speaker. Robin Sharma inspires me a lot. Well, I’ve not done anything to make this career happen, but I will always be around to motivated and spread positive thoughts to all my friends! )

    Life’s been great :)
    Lunch time catch up with Veron! Reminded me of our poly intern days where we end up in different companies but still do lunch meet ups! In a lot of ways, I prefer Imperial Treasure over Crystal Jade. Dessert store is having 30% off for mango dessert ;)

    Been to Fukuichi Japanese Dining at TripleOne Somerset 3 times. Finally had my camera with me on my latest visit! Such a pity because I had tried so many excellent dishes! Ever since the first visit with my bf, this restaurant has replaced a number of regular Japanese restaurant which I used to frequent. Currently, I frequent Fukuichi and Akashi.

    Updates from my Instagram archive - Part 2

    Couple of new places I tried recently.

    Not a sweet tooth but I have a soft spot for these and they did it well!

    ===============================================

    This is Etna @ 110 Upper East Coast Road. No idea why I only tried this place now. Currently have a thing for crab meat pasta in pink lobster sauce! The one at Pasta Inc got me interested to hunt around for the best!

    ===============================================

    Dinner at Ristorante Da Valentino. Absolutely love this place. The first page of the menu is their family photo. You get to know all of them, you get to know who cook what dishes. The chefs even came out to talk to us. To be exact, I felt like I’m having dinner in an Italian family’s home :)

    ===============================================

    FINALLY. I had the crepe :D Choose the one with cheesecake, strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate syrup ♥

    My love for the place is not exaggerated!

    Snacks for my BFFs!!

    ===============================================

    During one of my lunch time hunt for good nasi padang, I stumbled upon Maison Ikkuko. Had the caramel latte and it exceeded my expectation! Looking forward for my next cup of coffee with them.

    ===============================================

    Never expected to find edible ramen in the East. But I found it. Give it a try when you’re at Century Square! It’s located at the basement.

    New places!

    Updates from my Instagram archive - Part 1

    Starting with a photo of happy colors. I’ve never say no to ice kachang. I mean, it’s colorful ice! How can you say no? :D

    Eleen’s husband drove us to Jalan Berseh food centre for this fish soup. This store operates from 11.12am(something to with fengshui timing) till 3pm, BUT while stocks last. You don’t get to choose anything except for the serving size. Big or small. Dine in only. If you want to take away, they will serve you the bowl of soup and you have to pour into your Tupperware yourself. Not exactly a friendly store, but the queue is MAD LONG. Very flavourful and what I love is the generous amount of vegetables that’s in it! However, it’s a tad too oily for those health conscious people.

    ================================================

    Currently another of my favorite food centre is Albert food centre at Bugis. I always favour this place over food court for my lunch!

    They have a couple of really amazing food stalls there. Love the claypot rice and lor mee! I do find it necessary to rave about this tau suan. This is FRESHLY made. You can see the uncle cooking it! I’ve never had a tau suan that looks so CLEAR. The stickiness and sweetness is just right. The auntie will pack all the you-tiao separately. Very thoughtful! p.s they only open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

    ================================================

    Talked about this before, will talk about it again. This is my favorite assam laksa from Penang Road Cafe. Not tasted anything better yet so do recommend if you know of any place better!

    Cheap and good food!

    It has become a yearly affair for all of us to get together for a pot luck Christmas party. Nothing can be better then surrounding yourselves with your love one, friends, food alcohol and presents!

    We really had a great deal of fun and the photos can’t truly explains it! All the photos are already up on my facebook!

    Xmas party!

    Over my 2 years of work at Paragon, I had a number of sandwiches at PS Cafe and I enjoyed it. But PS Cafe has never been one of my proper dining choice. We decided to just give it a go for the Palais Renaissance outlet for our pre-xmas dinner.

    This is obviously the right place to be as this area is PEACEFUL. The stretch from H&M to Wheelock Place looks like a war zone in comparison! I swear to stay away from Orchard during festive season unless I had to.

    Strawberry banana smoothie with less milk is my current cold drink obsession!

    Portobello mushroom with watercress and truffle oil soup

    Crab cake drizzled with tomato chili sauce served with fresh flinders mixed salad

    Steak sandwich

    Crispy onion burger

    The place is no doubt beautiful. Food wise? Over priced. I had the crispy onion burger. All I can think of is Carl’s Jr version of crispy onion burger and how I had wasted topping up $5 for the fries they all it truffle fries. Desserts are what they are good at. Not all these.

    The girlies who always make my day!!!

    Pre-xmas dinner @ PS Cafe

    Excited to hear that new outlet of Marmalade Pantry is residing at the previous Mimolette. Knowing how beautiful the place is, I went there with an expectation and I was not disappointed!

    Outfit of the day. Luckily I wore the pink chiffon cardigan as it started raining on our way there!

    Raw and unedited.

    It’s my 3rd time dining at Marmalade Pantry.

    I’m surprise at how good this cup of creme brulee latte is!!!

    Mexican chicken salad with crispy tortilla, avocado, spiced corn and salsa. I’ve already plan to order this again on my next trip there!

    Oriental grilled king salmon with soba!

    Sticky date & toffee pudding! I already planned to eat this before I reached the restaurant. It is Marmalade Pantry’s MUST ORDER dessert!

    The cake is not as light as I would prefer. But it’s not that bad. Just pretty forgettable.

    If you’re planning a meal there, I would suggest that you skip their pastas. It is really not one of their strength. 3 people with us ordered pastas and it was so salty that they rejected it. I’m sorry that it was a wrong choice of order for them! But my boy and I had such a great meal there :)

    Mouthfuls of heaven. Possibly the best strawberry cheesecake.

    Celebrated our anniversary at Wild Rocket!

    Pomelo salad with tiger prawns and light coconut dressing.

    Have you ever came across a dish which taste so good that you can’t control but eat it super FAST? This was what happened to me with this salad.

    Salmon chirashi with bonito and baby octopus brown rice. I can’t even describe how fantastic this is. I’ve NEVER expected a taste like this. Instant win. I can eat this everyday. You have to try it to understand how good this is! If you think you don’t like salmon or dislike plain boring brown rice, this will change you!

    Black grouper cambodian amok and kaffir lime.

    Laksa pesto linguini with tiger prawns and quail egg. This had failed so terribly. Though I’m a big fan of pesto, this is just too dry, way too much pesto until I felt like I’m having grated grass stuck to linguini, no hint of laksa flavor…very disappointed. Funny that I was not pissed off. The salmon brown rice had pleased me so much.

    Dark lava chocolate gateau with milk ice cream. Boyfriend LOVES IT!

    Possibly the best strawberry cheesecake I ever had. I love how the deconstructed cheesecake has taken it to the next level. Every single layer of the cake’s taste has magnified. Mouthfuls of heaven.

    What I wore for our anniversary date!

    Us! Happy anniversary baby!!!

    Celebrated Agnes’ birthday at Enoteca L’Operatta!

    After dinner drinks at Lantern!

    Lovely customized birthday cupcakes from Joycelyn!

    A little present from me! Hope you like it :)

    You know, I always say that real friendship is effortless. It’s true. When you find no need for pretentious acts, small talks and there are no awkward silences and you can sit through a meal with a person, you know you’re with the right accompany! Happy birthday again, Agnes!

    Brunch @ Forty Hands

    23 October 2011 - SUNDAY

    The sight that greeted me as I walk up the stairs to the cafe.

    I love scaling hot coffee!

    Potato spuds in sour cream, bacon bits and chives

    Oven baked eggs. This was DAMN HARD AND DRY. We asked if it’s supposed to be this way. The lady checked and told us that the kitchen messed it up. -.- Oh wells, she was very apologetic and offered us some hollandaise sauce to go with the super hard bread.

     Hollandaise sauce. Couldn’t really save the day :(

    The waffle was pretty well done. Fluffy on the inside, could be crispier on the outside!

    Overall this is a very friendly and cozy place. It’s a pity they didn’t serve pancakes and carrot cake that day, which I have heard fantastic reviews about! I might be back but not before trying out other little cafes that have been popping out around the area!
